But It's Better If You Do

This just in, Dorstein steals listy thing off Jason.

The public isn't shocked! (See past history.)

For evidence of this brutal theft, see below!

RULES:
1. Put Your iTunes, Windows Media Player, whatever on Shuffle.
2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
3. YOU MUST WRITE THAT SONG NAME DOWN NO MATTER HOW SILLY IT SOUNDS.
4. Put any comments in brackets after the song name.
5. Put this on your journal.

1.If someone says, "Is this okay?" You say?
Angels would Fall - Melissa Etheridge

Umm...What? No, like...what? I shall be...your good friend, but be secretive. So...I guess I'll say "That sounds fine, good stuff!" and secretly be thinking "OMG!"

2.How would you describe yourself?

You're Beautiful - James Blunt
I was hoping for I'm Too Sexy by Right Said Fred, but this'll do I guess. Though I suppose it's oddly fitting, I mean, I keep hearing "Oh...My...GOD! You rock!" from people about the silliest things, but when it comes to important things I feel somewhat out of my league, if that makes sense?

I AM BEAAAAAUTIFULLLLLLLL

3.What do you like in a girl?
Ra Ra Rasputin - Boney M

I like my women the same as I like my dead Russian legendary religious figures:

Intelligent, wise, witty, almost impossible to kill, and great in bed.

Not necessarily in that order.

4.How do you feel today?
Skulk - Echo Image

Hmm, images of the song: regaining control brought on by being damaged or losing a piece of yourself.

I suppose that could apply to how I feel today. I was just employed and have been muddling through some personal issues. (THE DRAMA! IT IS LETHAL!)

5.What is your life's purpose?
It's my Life - No Doubt

After 10 minutes of trying to figure out what's going on in the song, I've barely a clue. Thusly: I'll use my first guess and say it's something like...breaking away and finding your own way.

Which would be sucky, if the purpose of my life is to find the purpose of my life, a purpose that can only be found at the end of my life when there is no more meaning to be found, that seems more like an agonizing punishment.

Like pushing a boulder up a hill and having it roll back down, the only thing I have to look forward to regarding that boulder is that one day I'll be dead, and won't have to push it anymore.

I AMMMMMM BEAUUUTFIUULLLLLLLL.

6.What is your motto?
Shining - Kristian Leontiou

I guess I interpret this as "I haven't been beaten, I haven't been stopped, and if you think that you can beat me, maybe you can, but I don't take anything sitting down (which I suppose I don't) and you've seen nothing yet."

7.What do your friends think of you?
History Repeating - Propellor Heads

Eh? I suppose there's two ways to take this, one of the ways being "RAR! THE DORSTEIN! IT DOTH SLOWLY EVOLVE AND BECOME BIGGARS!" When in fact I'm merely a continuation of the past.

Or that they think "Meh, he's just a continuation of the past."

I suppose it could also be that they see what I'm doing as going "Meh, woo, the world is 'changing' in that it's not going forward, or backward, just in a circle, spinning, spinning, spinning"

8.What do you think of your parents?
Africa - Toto

I...bluh?

9.What do you think about very often?

We Are More - Shane Koyczan
That people are more than they simply appear to be, that they're not entirely sheep, that the world's not full of bad people, that things are...going to be okay.

10.What is 2 + 2?
If we kissed - Merideth Brooks

I COULD be crude and say "FOURSOME!" but instead I'll keep to the spirit.
Four eyes, two pairs of lips. (Two pairs = 4)

Sexy nifty.

11.What do you think of your best friend?
When I'm Gone - Eminem

"When I'm gone, just carry on, rejoice every time you hear the sound of my voice, just know that I'm looking down on you smiling, and I don't a thing, so baby don't feel no pain and just smile back."

I suppose that'll work? Maybe?

I've always tried to be there for my friends, and I'd feel really bad if I wasn't there enough.

12.What do you think of the person you like?
First We Take Manhatten - Leonard Cohen

This song isn't that well known, so I'll quote a bit of a line.
It's about the mind of a fighter, someone who'll go all the way for what they believe in.

It's not a very well known song, so I'll give a quote from it relating to the question at hand.

"I'd really like to live beside you baby, I love your body, and your spirit and your clothes. But you see that line there moving through the station....I told, I told you, I told you, I was one of those."

From that line, I'm guessing the interpretation would be something along the lines of "I tried to show you who I was, but you kept thinking I was joking, or lying, or somebody else. But now the time, the chance, is slipping away, as my life, my beliefs, my goals, my future, my destiny even, are carrying away like a midnight train."

First, we take Manhattan, then...We take Berlin.

13.What is your life story?
Lost in Hollywood - System of a Down

I've been over my head since day one, competing with those whom had a lifetime's head start on me. Maybe I haven't been as successful, or maybe I am over my head, but the fact I'm a little-leaguer batting at a pro-level, even if I'm not the best, says something.

14.What do you want to be when you grow up?
I Want You - Savage Garden

Comfy, happy, loving someone, and sipping Cherry Cola.

15.What do you think of when you see the person you like?
Nails for Breakfast, Tacks for Snacks - Panic at the Disco

The hell? So far, if this is any indication, I should REALLY find someone else to like.

Seriously, first it's "I tried, and failed, BYE!" and then it's "You make me want to take drugs."

That can't be healthy.

16.What will you dance to at your wedding?
Family Portrait - Pink.

Apparently I'll have at least one ex-wife.

Or, more likely, there'll be family drama.

17.What will they play at your funeral?
It's All Coming Back to Me - Celine Dion

Whatever things have become us, dearest friends, during the course of our lives, let us remember now, upon the day of the remembrance of my life and my internment into the Earth that I may confront whatever awaits us all beyond the veil, that the next to the good, the bad pales and blows away like dust in the wind.

18.What is your hobby/interest?
Figured You Out - Nickelack

Having Drama in my life, apparently.
Yeah, I can go with that, seems to be a hobby of mine.

19.What is your biggest fear?
Don't Phunk With My Heart - The Black Eyed Peas

What is my biggest fear? Is it being toyed with, led on, and rejected? Is it trying so hard to garner a lady's affection and ending up alone?

Or is my greatest fear simply the Black Eyed Peas?

YOU DECIDE!

20.What is your biggest secret?
Darts - System of a Down

That's an interesting interpretation of my greatest secret.
And secret it shall remain.
Seriously, you expect me to spill it right here?

21.What do you think of your friends?
My Oh My - Aqua

Don't look at me to figure this one out, I figure this would be a "person I like" song, rather than this one.

I'm just going to make up some crap and say "Hey, I gotta go steal from the rich, when they don't know I'm coming, BYE"

*shrug*

22.What will you post this as?
But It's Better If You Do - Panic At the Disco

Kay, I shall.

Shocked you are, I have no doubt, but I actually am writing again, despite the best efforts of the university life to turn me into...a successful lawyer.

Seriously, they're trying very damned hard.

Anyways, I shall post things: Shortly-ish.

Hopefully within the month.

Got A Pulse: Thus Alive

Getting ready to go back to school after a two year haitus!

Mood: Excited University HO!
Listening to: Stabilo - Flawed Design
Watching: Aeon Flux

Hey all my wonderful fans, both of you.

Just letting you know that I am still alive I stopped writing for a while, as I'm sure you noticed, a lot of that was due to a particularily crappy job that's been very difficult to come back from, despite the fact that it's been a few months since I quit.

I am writing, it's crap to be sure, but at least it's something, I've only posted a single scrap because lately the most I can get out is a half page of a ten page post, if you catch my meaning, so it's not really worth posting up.

In regards to mine life plans, I'm about to move to Kelowna, yup, going back to school. I've been out for, uhh, two years worth, I think? Planning on majoring in Political Science, maybe branch out into Law or get my CGA from there, depending on such trivial things as Grades and Whether I still have a Pulse.

Had surgery the beginning of July, it was a relativily minor one, but they did knock me out for it. It's a rather personal nature so I won't get into the specifics, but most everything's turned out alright.

Thanks much for occasionally checking in on my little slice of internets, (I know you do, otherwise you wouldn't be reading this). It's a good feeling to get the occasional hit or comment still coming in after all this time of idleness. I know I'll never get the whole 500 hits a day thing that people who do visual artwork get, but, even so, as long as literally one person is reading it, I'm good.

That is all,

D. Dorstein.
